Good News!!

Hi David!

It’s Tuesday afternoon. Erik is working on his math. I made him some pancakes for lunch and I ,myself, am just eating plain rice. We haven’t been feeling that well so our diet is basic.

Erik and I were planning to go and visit Maija-Sitota this afternoon. I called Haregewein to see if I could come. No answer. Then she called me and said not to bother coming today for she thinks Maija will have her visa tomorrow and I can just come and pick her up. I don’t have much for her but I think we’ll make do with what we have here. I just need to go and get her some diapers and pablum. If you get here on time for Saturday the International Church is hosting a Bazzaar for different organizations that work with people in different regions to produce arts and crafts. They have an opportunity to sell them at ‘fair trade’ in this market. Erik and I are plannning to go to it (with Maija if we have her by then).

Talk to you later.

  1. Erik. Did you get your results from your RCM exam? Yesterday one of my students told me she got her results. She got 100. Cool eh? She wrote her Gr. 2 Theory. I am anxious to hear how yours went. I will check too.

Hope all is good. You must be all excited to see David and Seppo. I have been enjoying your letters and news and pictures. You are such a great writer. You must be having such a great time. Have you taught any music lessons yet?

Take care and lots of love.
    Aunt Laura.

  2. Hello Satu and Erik,

I have been following your blog. It is so exciting to hear all that is happening there. I can't believe I'm writing to someone in Ethiopia. Amazing!! I have a slight urge to jump in one of David's suitcases, that's amazing for me. Don't tell Ian or we will be on our way there tonight!

Anyway, I just love hearing all that is happening especially with Maija. I'm so excited to meet her!

I've been thinking alot of Kidist and praying God will bring her some help. Wish I could help her some how. I'll keep praying for her.

Risto was here last night for supper and then to cubs, they love to be together. He is looking very well, pink cheeks and all - he is a happy boy. We enjoy him. Simon will be coming on Wednesday around 4:00 that will be fun too!

I'm thinking of you both every day, praying God's blessing on you there and praying for your safe return. Maija will be blessed to grow up knowing of Jesus, so exciting for her!

    Love in Christ,

    Kim xo

  3. Hi Satu and Erik (and maybe even Maija by now...)

We've been following your blog and I can't believe the day is FINALLY here for Maija to become a realio, trulio Kimbley-baby! We're all wishing you happiness and a safe return..and I can't wait to welcome Maija-Sitota to Boularderie.

Please just let us know if there's anything we can do at this end (although I'm sure you've got it all sorted out). I know the orange car seat didn't work out as planned, but if there's anything else we can do, just let us know. :-)

We're all fine here, just c-c-c-cold and sunny lately...I'm ready for another good snowstorm...

Anyway, can't wait to welcome you home!!!

Love to all from all of us...

Jenny (Lester & Alasdair & Liam & Sam & dogs & cats & harps & flutes & coloured pencils etc....)

P.S.: Any sign of the Ethiopian harp coming home too? That sounds intriguing! ;-)
